My wife runs almost every day. I bike. That’s just the way it is. She’s a runner, I’m a cyclist.
Then one day, I get curious. I’m in my home office and have just finished a report I was working on. It’s around 10:30 am and I think to myself “I wonder what this running thing is all about… I should at least give it a go… just to see.”
So, I put on some shorts and some training shoes(I don’t own actual running shoes at this point) and I go outside and run 5km. It was pretty random… a kind of Forrest Gump experience. I ran as hard as I could, finishing in 25m:33s. I was pretty winded and my legs were burning. I didn’t really enjoy it but I felt like I had gotten a good workout.
Hmm, maybe this is worth trying.
