Do you ever get behind on your banana consumption and end up with over-ripe fruit that’s not really good to eat? If you’re like me, and you hate wasting food, here’s a tip. Throw it in the blender, not the garbage.
This banana smoothie makes a nutritious, balanced, low calorie lunch or breakfast if you’re on the go. It’s got a pretty good dose of potassium and protein which also makes it a killer recovery drink after a workout, especially if you’ve being doing some serious sweating. And you can bump up the fibre by adding some extra fruit. I often use a kiwi with the skin or some berries.
- 1 banana
- 3/4 cup vanilla non-fat Greek Yogurt
- 1/2 cup 2% Milk
- 1/3 cup Raspberries, blueberries or a Kiwi (optional)
Puree in blender and enjoy!
